Mom and Dad had antecedents on both sides of that bloody conflict. Counties were split, towns were split, and families were split. It was never as simple as being the north versus the south.

The Preacherman says, "My advice to you is to get yourself a gun and learn how to shoot." The Gunman says, "My advice to you is to get yourself a Bible and learn how to pray."

Hi Zack

Thoughtful article with which I can't disagree. It was only back in the fifties that guns could be kept for self-protection. As you know they are now all but verboten in the UK - only sportsmen,farmers and wealthy landowners have guns now. Oh, and criminals of course.

I read an article recently that had a British politician blaming USA gun laws for illegal gun smuggling to the UK.

It's just plain crazy all over.
